Now that summer has taken hold of us and the weather has warmed our souls, it’s time me to get creative.
Heading to the beach and dipping a toe or two in the sea is very refreshing and definitely wakes up those little grey cells. I have picked up my needle not to sew but to felt some tiny works. I have some wooden spools which inspired me to make a small bird to sit on top. I gathered my bags of wool, felting pad and needles. I made some rough sketches as a guide and a way I went. I love how my little robin turned out , sitting among the moss. Seeing rabbits and hares in the local meadows , I’ve tried to recreate an image of them dashing about. Felting with wool is a very enjoyable craft. Bring together different colours, creating shapes and watching your little characters appear. I am no expert at this craft but I do love to experiment and I would encourage anyone to try it.
